SSS Lucky To Know You Blog Hop

Hello hello crafty friends and welcome back to another tutorial. I’m so extremely excited to be apart of Simon Says Stamp Blog Hop! It’s Day 2 of Lucky To Know You Release. Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $25 coupon to every stop on the hop from their blog comment section. They will pick a winner from each blog and post the winner on Simon Says Stamp blog on Wednesday, the 11th of March. So make sure you leave a comment below.

My first card I wanted to keep it simple. So I used SSS Green Leaf on the stem and I used some watercolor paper. I then used Mowed Lawn distress ink then finally I used Twisted Citron for the lighter leaves. For the Tulip bulb, I used Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick. Just wanted to keep it simple.

I trimmed down my panel squared. I adhered it to some Neenah Desert Storm cardstock and I used some Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock as my card base. I added a pre printed sentiment that also came in the new release called Reverse Happy Birthday Strips and finished it off with a few embellishments from Studio Katia Ice Fusion Sequins.

For my second card, I wanted to use more color with this one. So I used Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade and Twisted Citron distress inks for my panel background. It’s so hard for me to not go full throttle (as Laura Bassen says when she refers to adding tons of ink when distressing…so I had to pay attention to use a lighter hand because I wanted to add my tulips on top.

Once my panel was dry, I started to add my tulip layers. I used Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry for the tulip bulb. I also used My Copics to add a little something to the flower to take it a a little notch. I used the same inks as I did with the other card for the stem and leaves. I used YR67 and YR17 for the grass around the stem and leaves. The sentiment is also from SSS Reverse Happy Birthday strips.

I added a little bit of my Perfect Pearls (Perfect Pearl color) to some water and splattered some to the card and finished it up with Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Confetti Mix.
My third card I used this fun SSS Daffodil Stem die cut. I wanted to keep it simple. So I cut the flower just once and colored it. I used RV55, RV13 and RV52 for the flower petals and used YG67, YG17 and YG03 for the stem and leaves.

I added a little Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink at the center of my panel. Before I placed my flower, I trimmed down my panel just a little. Then I placed my flower. I used CZ Design stamp set for the sentiment for this card.

I adhered my panel on an A2 size card base using Neenah Desert Storm cardstock. I finished my card with some clear drops from Pretty Pink Posh.

My last card I began by preparing my panel by using SSS Large Dots stencil. I attached the stencil using some masking tape to keep my stencil in place. I wanted to keep the colors “spring time’ish” so I started with Squeezed Lemonade and covered my entire panel.

I removed my stencil to offset the dots and re-attached it to my panel to keep it in place. I started to blend in Twisted Citron for the middle color and Mowed Grass for the bottom color. Once I was done blending, I removed the stencil (make sure you clean it off) and set my panel aside to dry a bit.

I cut out the Daffodil approx 5 times (for dimension) I made sure I didn’t fully cut out one of the flowers so that I would be able to color it. For the flower and petals I used YR24, Y08 and Y02. For the leaves, I used YG67, YG17 and YG03.

Once I completed my coloring, I stacked all of the flowers on top of the colored one making sure everything is removed from all of the flowers. I used spray glue because its easier for me to attached everything.

I used SSS Wonky Rectangles frames to use on my panel. I attached a trimmed down piece of Neenah Desert Storm card stock on top of my A2 panel. Then I adhered my panel on top of that. I placed my flower and used CZ Design stamp set for the sentiment.
