Hello hello crafty friends. It’s time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. This week it is all about projects Reach for the Stars. We are featuring products by Simon Says Stamp. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you do, we would love to see you use them.  Challenge Deets are over at SimonSaysStampBlog.com or you can click the image above.  So let’s get started with the project I sharing with you today!

I started my project with using a trimmed down A2 size panel SSS Soft Navy and attached my SSS In the Round stencil.  I grabbed my ink tool and used sparingly Simon’s white ink and lightly tapped on top of my stencil.  Then I grabbed some Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon Oxide inks and dabbed it all over my stencil as well.

Once I was done with applying my ink, I used Ranger’s Clear Texture paste and applied it all over my stencil, smoothing it evenly with my pallet knife  When I was done with the paste,  I carefully removed my stencil and cleaned it off with warm water so that the paste wouldn’t dry and ruin my stencil.  I set my panel to completely dry for about an hour.

As I was letting my panel dry, I grabbed my SSS Under the Sea Animals and stamped out my starfish using Simon Intense Black in since I’ll be doing a bit of copic coloring.  I used R27, R24, R22 and R20 to color my starfishes going from lightest to darkest and back again.  When my copic coloring was done, I used my clear Wink of Stella shimmer pen and added some sparkle to my starfish. Then I used my white jelly pen to add a few dots to my starfish. I cut out my starfish using the coordinating die cut for the starfish.

Once my panel was completely dried, I started to assemble my card.  I trimmed down my panel and adhered some fun foam to the back and attached it to my card base.  Then I arranged my 3 starfish in the middle of my panel and also used some foam tape and attached it to my panel.  I stamped my sentiment that came with the stamp set on a piece of black cardstock, used some embossing ink, added some white embossing powder and heat set it with my heat tool.  I cut out my sentiment and added some foam adhesive to the back and attached it under my starfish.  I finished my card off with some Pink and Main embellishments.  That’s it!  A really fun “under the sea” type card.

Thank you so much for stopping by .  The products I used to make my card and where they can be purchased are listed below.  All you have to do is click on the image and go shopping.  I would appreciate it so much if you use the links I’ve provided below.  There’s no extra charge for you and it will give me credit for the project I’m sharing with you today.

Now it’s your turn.  We can’t wait to see what you come up with.  Make sure you head over to Simon’s blog and get all the deets.  Good luck and I’ll see you next time.

  2. Love your background. Do you think I could use clear gel medium instead of clear texture paste to get a similar effect?
