Hello hello crafty friends and welcome back to another tutorial. I’m extremely excited to be apart of  day 2 of Simon Says Stamp Blog Hop for their latest release Send Happiness. If you are hopping along then I am guessing you are coming from the very talented and amazing Heather Hoffman.  She is sooo amazing isn’t she?   Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $25 coupon to every stop on the hop from their blog comment section. They will pick a winner from each blog and post the winner on Simon Says Stamp blog on Wednesday, the 1st of July. So make sure you leave a comment below. There’s also a free gift!!   Make sure you use the promo code: SDH44/LVSM54/MBH28/SNML92 when you check out.  It expires 6/29 at 11:59pm EDT…But let’s get started with my first card.

My first card I started off with an A2 size panel.  I used my anti static tool to prep my panel for embossing.  I inked up my CZ Design Chunky Flower background stamp with Simon’s clear embossing ink.  I stamped the image on my panel, used Simon’s clear embossing powder and heat set it with my heat gun.

I grabbed my Distress Inks to do a bit of a rainbow theme for this card.  I started in the middle with Squeezed Lemonade in a circular motion.  Then I switched to Spiced Marmalade.  I added Festive Berries to the outer layer of my panel.  I went back and forth between the colors until it was blended the way I wanted it.

Once I was done blending, I trimmed down my panel to get those clean edges. My sentiment came from CZ Design’s Happy Days stamp and coordinating die set.  I used the same process I did with my panel in prepping it for heat embossing.

I added my panel to an A2 size card base using Simon’s Fog cardstock.  I added some fun foam to the back of my panel and adhered it to my card base.  I also added some fun foam to my Happy sentiment and adhered it to the middle of my panel.  I finished off my project with some Icy embellishments from Little Lucy.  And that’s card number 1.

My card number 2 started off with getting an A2 size card panel.  I grabbed my SSS Mermaid Scale Stencil and attached it to my panel using low tack tape.  I used my distress inks again for this card and used Wilted Violet at the bottom.  Then I blended in Blueprint Sketch…Mermaid Lagoon and finally Cracked Pistachio.  I went back and forth until it was blended the way I wanted it to me.  I wiped off the stencil but don’t take it off,  I used GinaK Glitz Glitter gel all over my panel.  Make sure you don’t dip your knife back into the jar without wiping it off first.  Once I was done with the gel, I carefully removed it from my panel and immediately clean it off and set my panel to dry.

While my panel was drying, I stamped the mermaid tail on 80lb cardstock with embossing ink from the SSS Be A Mermaid stamp and coordinating die set.  I used clear embossing ink and heat set it.  I used the same colors of distress ink that I did on my panel.

When my panel was completely dried, I trimmed down the side to get those clean edges. I attached some fun foam to the back and adhered it to a white card base. (110lb cardstock)  I also added some fun foam to the mermaid tail and adhered it to my panel.  The sentiment is from the mermaid stamp set.  I used white embossing powder on black cardstock and used fun foam on it is well.  I finished off the card with some Little Lucy Icy embellishments.  And that’s card number 2.

IMG_2891

Card number 3 I started off with an A2 size panel and I lightly used some Cracked Pistachio all over.  Then I grabbed the SSS In the Round stencil and attached it to my panel with some low tack tape.  I used Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch in various areas on the stencil.

Once I was done with the ink blending, I added some Ranger Transparent Gloss paste in the areas I ink blended.  When I was done with applying an even coat of paste on my panel, I carefully removed it and washed it off immediately.  I set my panel to dry.

While my panel was drying, I grabbed CZ Design Chunky Love You die cut and ran it through my die cutting machine using Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock.  I did it 3 times for a little dimension.  I used some vellum for the shadow piece.  I’m going to use additional foam adhesive underneath so I’m not going to stack it up too much.  Then I cut out SSS Etched Flower Buds die approx. 4 times.  I used my distress inks as watercolor and used Blueprint sketch  with some Mermaid Lagoon and added color to the buds.  I colored the stem with green from my watercolor paints…When I was done, I stacked the buds to each other using glue.

When my panel was dried enough, I began to assemble my project.  I attached my sentiment to the vellum with some clear glue.  Then I cut out tiny pieces of foam tape and attached it to the back of my sentiment making sure I hid it behind the words.  I trimmed down my panel so I can have clean edges.  I also used a piece of SSS Cornflower cardstock. I adhered it to an A2 size card base using Neenah 110lb cardstock.  I finished off my project with some Pretty Pink Posh Marshmallow Confetti embellishments.
