SSS Love You, Too Blog Hop: Day 1

sldcreations 77

Hello hello crafty friends and welcome back to another tutorial. I’m extremely excited to be apart of  Day 1 of Simon Says Stamp Blog Hop for their Diecember Release. If you are hopping along then I am guessing you are coming from the very talented and amazing Heather Ruwe.  She is sooo amazing isn’t she?  Simon is giving a free Faraway Hugs 6×8 stamp set with a $100 purchase.  Make sure you use code: HUGS4U2  This promotion will expire 1/18 at 11:59 pm EST.  So let’s get started.

My first project I’m sharing I started by getting a piece of A2 size Neenah Solar white 80lb cardstock and I prepped it for being heat embossed.  I used my anti static bag all over my card panel.  I inked up my SSS Heart Garden background stamp with some VersaMark embossing ink and stamped my image.  I used my Misti to get a complete stamped image.  After I stamped my image, I used some SSS White embossing powder.  I used my heat too to heat set it.

I grabbed my Faber Castell polychrome’s to color the hearts and leaves.  I didn’t do any fancy coloring.  Used 2 pencils for the hearts and 2 pencils for the leaves.  Then I used some Festive Berries, Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar distress oxides and ink blended all around my card making sure I kept the center lighter than the perimeter.

When I was done with ink blending, I grabbed my biggest SSS Stitched Rectangle die frame and ran it through my platinum 6 cutting machine.  I used the sentiment that came with the stamp set and stamped it on some black cardstock using Simon’s white embossing powder.  I also ran it through my platinum 6 using Simon’s Sentiment Label die.

Finally, I added some foam adhesive tape to the back of my panel and the adhered it onto my A2 card base using Simon’s #130 cardstock.  I finished it off with some Studio Katia round clear mix drop.  That’s it for card #1.

My second project I’ll using products from the Love You release.  So started with ink blending some Neenah Solar white 80lb cardstock.  (you can get whatever size to ink blend..you’ll trim it down eventually)  I used Seedless Preserve, Candied Apple, Festive Berries, Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar distress inks and just blended starting with the darker color and go lighter..going back and forth making sure its blended the way you want it.

Once my ink was blended, I got SSS Mini Hearts Party die cut and cut it out on the same cardstock and ran it through my platinum 6 die cutting machine.  I did that 3 times and I glued them together using Gina K Connect glue.  Then I trimmed my ink blended panel and adhered it to the bottom side of the stacked hearts die.

I found this cute little doggie die from Simon and used that to add something else to my card.  I placed it on the edge of my panel and for my sentiment, I used SSS Love and Valentine’s stamp and coordinating set.  Added everything to my A2 size card base and that completes card #2

My last project, I started with an A2 size panel using Neenah Solar white cardstock.  I used SSS Hearts and Streamers stencil (using the streamer stencil)On the panel, I lightly ink blended Shaded Lilac, Broken China, Cracked Pistachio, Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Pumpkin and Picked Raspberry.  I ink blended them really lightly. I lightly ink blended Shaded Lilac, Broken China, Cracked Pistachio, Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin and Picked Raspberry.  I ink blended them really lightly.  I used some Pixie low tack spray glue and adhered the stencil to my panel. I went back with a heavier hand and add the colors over the stencil and when I was done, I put that to the side.

I used CZ Chunky Birthday die cut and used black cardstock along with SSS Silver Holographic for the birthday part. I assembled everything on my A2 size panel and finished it off with some embellishments from Simon.

That’s it.  Easy, right!?!? The products I used for these projects and where you can get them are listed below. At no extra charge to you for using the list, you can click on them and go shopping.
