SSS Love Birds Die Cut

Hello hello crafty friends.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Today I will be sharing how I made this fun Valentine’s Day card using a little copic coloring…so let’s get started.

I began my project with an A2 size card panel.  I attached my SSS Large Dots Stencil using some Pixie spray to to my panel.  Then, with a light blend motion, I applied some Hickory Smoke distress oxide on one corner moving inward (making sure you use a lighter touch the closer you get to the middle) I flipped it and did the same thing to the other corner.  I removed my stencil and cleaned it off.

Using  my platinum 6 die cutting machine, I ran my SSS Love Birds die through it using some SSS Ultra Thick #120 white cardstock.  I used this cardstock because it is thick and when I run it through my machine, the pieces cut but they don’t cut out.  I do this when I stack the frames of things that I can cover when I quickly color things. (not having to see my mistakes when I stack them.

So the first cutout, make sure all of the pieces are in there and you can flip it over and tape the pieces in place.  Flip it back over and start coloring.  I used my copic markers.  The colors are:  Birds – R46, R35, R30 and R20 Branch – E29, E23 and E13 Leaves: G14 and G9. Nothing crazy.  Just normal coloring with a little blending.  When I was finished coloring, I switched to Neenah Solar white 80lb cardstock and ran my birds die approx 4 times.  I glue each piece and stacked it on the top and you get a clean color die cut.  I also cut out SSS Small Heart Doily die cut and I used SSS Lipstick Red cardstock.

I got my card panel and trimmed it down to get a clean border.  Then I used my Misti and stamped my sentiment using SSS Intense Black ink on the SSS Love Word Mix 2 stamp and coordinating die set.  Using an A2 size card base, I added some foam adhesive and adhered it to my card base.  I finished off my card with some embellishments.

That’s it!  Pretty simple, right?!?  The products I used for this card and where I purchased them are listed below. At no extra charge to you for using the list, you can click on them and go shopping. Thank you so much for stopping by and I’ll see you next time!
