SSS Wednesday Challenge: Avery Elle – Red, White & Blue

Hello hello crafty friends. It’s time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. This week is Red, White and/or Blue. We are featuring products by Avery Elle. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you do we would love to see you use them. Challenge deets are over at SimonSaysStampBlog.com. Let’s begin on how I made this card.

I started off with an A2 size panel using Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock.  I ink blended the top part using Festive Berries distress ink and the bottom part Blueprint Sketch.  As you are blending both sides, use a lighter hand as you get towards the middle but don’t let them blend together.

Use SSS Scattered Stars stencil and spread some Tonic Glimmer Paste all over the stencil (make sure you use some Pixie Spray and adhere it to your panel to the stencil will stay in place) using your palette knife.  When you’re done spreading the paste, remove the stencil and let panel dry.  Clean off stencil and knife ASAP.

While panel is drying, run your Avery Elle Star Frame through your die cutting machine using SSS Lipstick Red cardstock.  Then run the stars through using white cardstock.  Apply some Blueprint Sketch on the smaller star.

Trim panel down to clean it up from the dried paste.  Apply some foam tape to the back of the panel and adhere it to an A2 size card base using Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock.  Adhere the star and frame to the panel and attach your sentiment.  No embellishment needed.
